The school is operated by Hawkesbury Independent School Incorporated, formed at the end of 1992 under the Associations Incorporation Act. The school is managed for the association by the Management Committee, a group of parents and community members elected annually from among the members of the association. This group determines the management policies under which the school operates and is responsible for its financial and administrative management. This group is also responsible for the appointment of the principal and the Convenor of the Management Committee.
Detailed decisions regarding the day-to-day operation of the school are made by the Principal and the teachers.
