Great work, children!

Murder under the Microscope 2008

Our Years 5 & 6 children were one of a number of schools who were named Eco-Sleuths 2008, when they solved the environmental mystery last term.

The second part of the program involved schools producing a management plan to eradicate the problem and stop it occurring again. As part of our Catchment Management Plan, our children chose to produce a digital animation depicting the problem that UnsustainableLand Management causes in the environment. They wrote and sang a song to accompany the animation.

It was a wonderful animation with a lot of thought and care going into its production.

During the holidays we learned, that the children had won a Highly Commended Award for their Catchment Management Plan. We were one of only 4 schools that received a special award out of thousands that took part in this program. Great work, children!

Due to the wonderful success of our school in the Murder under the Microscope Program, two representatives from Years 5 & 6 will be attending an award ceremony in Sydney next month. At the ceremony, the children will be giving a short speech which will include the exciting and challenging aspects of their participation in the program. They will receive their Highly Commended Award.
