OUR STUDENTS |
Team BeatWhat a great time we had when Teambeat visited our school and provided our students with a fun interactive performance called "Salaka" which means "Sharing" in Ghana. Salaka was performed by Tuza Afuta, a Master Drummer in his village in Ghana. His colourful, traditional African clothing, his talent, humour and most of all his energy made him a hit with our students. The show introduced students to an array of traditional African drums and instruments of all shapes and sizes. The children joined in traditional songs and dances from Ghana. Every student had a turn at playing drums.
Salaka was a wonderful fun way to experience and learn about traditional African music and culture with a wonderful African musician. |
